To Do Lists

I made a to do list for the month of August and have gotten exactly 2 things crossed off that list so far.  We are now August 27th.  What are the chances I’ll scratch off the other 8?  Oh well!  I’ve spent more “quiet time” in the afternoons with my daughter instead of in front of the computer this week.  She is starting full-day kindergarten, which means we won’t have afternoons (or mornings) together anymore. 😦  I keep saying this, but time moves too quickly!!

One of the things I did manage to do this month was grab a bunch of the mini kits from the August DST blog train!  I haven’t played with them much yet, but I loved the colours they used this time.  Here is the one page I have managed to do so far, using word art, elements and paper from many of the participating designers.  If you’re interested, hurry over to the blog train blog and grab them while they’re free.  At the end of the month, a lot of the designers put their kits in their stores.

My plan for September is to get a portfolio together to show potential clients my work.  I’d also like to finish up (or rather start and finish) my 2010 album and print it as a photo book.  There are a few things I would like to learn too, including blending and using brushes.  I have been experimenting with both, but some of the layouts I see in galleries are amazing and I have no idea how they do it.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

P365, Week 32

For this page, I used a variation of Template 10, available here.  I also used the same kit I used to make my very first P365 page.  I had not used the kit since I made that page and it’s pretty cute, so I decided to put it to use again here.

I will be MIA for a few days.  I hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll be back next week.

P365, Week 31 and a Freebie

It’s a little hard to believe that I am now offering my tenth template!  I love making them and having the opportunity to share them with you adds to the fun.  That being said, I will be taking a little break from making them for a while.  My scrapping time is quite limited, since my son is still not a good sleeper, and I plan to get my S4H business started by the end of the year.  So the little time I do have, I would like to spend it on the business for now.  We’ve been saying this for months now, but hopefully *soon*, James will start sleeping and we’ll have more time to do other things.  In the meantime, here is my 10th(!!!) freebie for you.  I would love to see the pages you create with it.  Thanks!

Here is my page for week 31, using the template above.

J’s 2011 Brag Book

As I have mentioned before, I am working on brag books for both of my children.  At the end of each year, I will print them in a book and they will have them as keepsakes when they are older.  I think the books would also make great gifts for family members.  I have shared a couple of the pages I have made so far for Leah’s 2011 book here and here.  Tonight, I want to share a couple of the pages I have made for James.  I decided to make his in black and white and so far, I am pretty happy with how it is turning out.

Project 365, Week 30

I can hardly believe it.  Two pages in one day!

Looking at this page, I wish I had had room for journaling.  When the week is uneventful, it’s not always necessary to write things out.  But this was a busy and fun week.  I think I will put the focus on the journaling for weeks 31 and 32.

I’ll be at the beach tomorrow with my kids, but I’ll be back later in the week.
