It’s been a pretty busy week this week. My husband was out of town on business, so the kids and I had to fend for ourselves. But with L back at school, the days were pretty laid back and easy, just J and I. We managed to get a bunch of errands done in the mornings and then he slept all afternoon. This gave me plenty of time to work, which was wonderful! I really look forward to my quiet afternoons scrapping on my computer. I’m finalizing a few new prints to add to my Etsy shop next week, which I will share with you here when they are up.
For now, here is one of the prints I made this week. It is a picture of J and I from April.

Two weeks left of Summer vacation. My daughter returns to school on the 28th. It seems the last 2 months have gone by so fast. It’s been so wonderful having her home and watching the two kids play and interact together. It will be strange when she goes back to school and it’s just my son and I again.
Of course, while I have enjoyed this special time with her, I am looking forward to having more time to focus on my work again. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of these lazy days and I’ll see you in September!

I finished my first photo book. I am so excited! I’ve had this idea for some time now, but hadn’t gotten a chance to work on it. The last three weeks, I’ve spent almost all my scrapping time working on it and I am happy with how it turned out. The photo book is a recap of our lives in 2010 in pictures. Each month has two pages and then at the beginning I made a page with the year and a random display of most of the pictures found throughout the book.
Here are a few of the pages, to give you an idea of how it looks.
This will be the first page of the book. 144 pictures on one page.
Here is the first page for May. The first page for each month is the same, with a picture at the top and the month on the bottom.
Here are a couple of the second pages for each month. The layout is different for every month, depending on how many pictures I included and which ones were more significant to us. The pages below are from April and October.
I can’t wait to see the printed version when it arrives. It will take a few weeks for it to be printed and shipped.
As I have mentioned before, I am working on brag books for both of my children. At the end of each year, I will print them in a book and they will have them as keepsakes when they are older. I think the books would also make great gifts for family members. I have shared a couple of the pages I have made so far for Leah’s 2011 book here and here. Tonight, I want to share a couple of the pages I have made for James. I decided to make his in black and white and so far, I am pretty happy with how it is turning out.

Our internet issues seem to be resolved now. James is still having trouble with his naps, but he’s sleeping better at night, so I really shouldn’t complain. Here is my most recent page. It’s part of my Project 365. Since I knew I wouldn’t be printing out 52 pages as a keepsake (it’s a little too expensive), I wanted another way to keep the photos together on a smaller number of pages. I’ll be doing a page for each month. The page below has some of the highlights of the first six months of 2011.
Happy anniversary! Thank you for six great years. xo

Here is my first black and white page of Leah. I found the quote at Denny’s Poems and Quotes. This website has titles, quotes, poems, etc. for anything and everything.
